NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Two members of the Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Friday evening.

Sophomore Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a career-best time of 18:04.62. Madden qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the event.

Senior Kristyn Grattan (Hanover, Mass.) finished 27th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:59.87.

The BSU women's outdoor track & field team will compete on Saturday at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State University.
