BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's tennis team began preparation for the 2018 season as 13 student-athletes reported to preseason camp on Wednesday morning and hit the court for the first time later in the afternoon.

Head Coach Dave Purpura's squad opens the 2018 campaign on Monday, September 3rd at noon when the Bears entertain Endicott College at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts. Following two more non-conference contests against Johnson & Wales University (Sept. 11) and Suffolk University (Sept. 13), the Bears open Little East Conference (LEC) play on the road on Saturday, September 15th (noon) when they travel to Worcester State University. 

Bridgewater State is ranked fifth in the Little East Women's Tennis Preseason Poll which was released earlier this week. The Bears tallied 53 points in the poll. Defending champion Rhode Island College is the preseason favorite to capture the league title as the Anchorwomen amassed 72 points including six of the nine first place votes.
