Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Tri-Meet

WESTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team split a tri-meet hosted by Regis College on Saturday.

The Bears posted a 237-45 win over Eastern Connecticut State University, and dropped a 173-116 decision to the host Pride.

Bridgewater State recorded three event wins on the day.

Junior Allison Hunt (Norton, Mass.) captured top honors in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:07.68, while senior Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) was the first to touch the wall in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.70 seconds.

The Bears' foursome of Hunt, Coogan, sophomore Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.) and senior Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) placed first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.84.

BSU senior Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) finished second on the one-meter diving board with an 11-dive score of 314.30 points.

The Bears (1-1) will host UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday evening at six.
