Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Brandeis, Keene State on Senior Day

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team competed against Brandeis University and Keene State College on Senior Day at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears (5-4) dropped a 131-98 decision to Brandeis and fell to Keene State by a score of 141-101.

Senior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) captured top honors in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.37 seconds, while junior Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) was the first to touch the wall in the 100 freestyle as she posted a time of 57.16 seconds.

Nolan also placed second in the 100 freestyle with a season-best time of 58.00 seconds.

Junior Alexa Wilson (Centerville, Mass.) added a second-place showing in the one-meter diving competition with a career-best score of 168.30 points.

Nolan, Coogan, senior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.) and junior Megan Bonney (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) finished second in the 200 medley relay (1:57.32) to open the meet.

The Bears' relay squad featuring sophomore Allison Hunt (Norton, Mass.), freshman Makayla Paquin (North Easton, Mass.), Bonney and Coogan closed out the meet with a second-place performance in the 200 freestyle relay (1:46.93).

Prior to the meet, the Bears honored seniors Jennifer Cote (Seekonk, Mass.), Becca Foster (Billerica, Mass.), Julia Gagne (South Hadley, Mass.), Jennifer Marmion (Waltham, Mass.), Bridgette McGovern (Natick, Mass.), Picabo Miskiv (Centerville, Mass.), Nicole Moneghan (Lincoln, R.I.), Nolan and Souza.

The BSU swimming & diving teams are back in action on Wednesday (Jan. 23) evening as the Bears travel to Bentley University for a six o'clock meet with the Falcons.
