Women's Swimming & Diving Battles Bentley

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team competed against Division II Bentley University on Wednesday evening at the Moriarty Pool.

The Bears (4-8) dropped a 221-67 decision to the visiting Falcons.

Junior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) captured top honors in the 1,650 freestyle (19:37.65) and placed second in the 200 backstroke (2:21.89). Nolan also swam a leg on the Bears' 200 freestyle relay along with senior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass), junior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.) and sophomore Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.). The foursome posted a time of 1:46.67 to finish second in the event.

Souza also placed second in the 50 freestyle (27.33), while Grant posted a second place showing in the 100 butterfly (1:05.59) and Coogan finished second in the 1,650 freestyle (19:52.97).

The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Regis College for a tri-meet featuring the host Pride and Husson University.
