Women's Swimming & Diving Races Past UMass Dartmouth, 125.5-92.5

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming & diving team posted a 125.5-92.5 victory over visiting UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday evening at the Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.

The Bears (2-2) placed first in six out of 12 events including the meet-ending 400 freestyle relay.

Junior Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) captured top honors in the both the 1,000 freestyle (11:23.57) and the 100 backstroke (1:03.85). Nolan also ran a leg on the Bears' winning 400 freestyle relay squad along with senior Abbie Grant (Mansfield, Mass.), freshman Allison Hunt (Norton, Mass.), and junior Danielle Souza (Mansfield, Mass.).

Grant added a victory in the 100 butterfly (1:06.60), while Souza was also the first to touch the wall in the 100 freestyle (59.06).

Sophomore Mackenzie Coogan (Assonet, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' event winners as she placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:08.75).

In upcoming action, the BSU swimming & diving teams compete at the Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMD on Saturday starting at noon.
