Women's Soccer Tied For 2nd in MASCAC Preseason Poll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's soccer team is tied for second place the MASCAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll which was recently released.

The Bears received three first-place votes and totaled 42 points in the poll. Worcester State University also amassed 42 points including a pair of first place votes. The defending champion Westfield State Owls led all teams with 45 points and also received three first-place votes.

The Bears began preparations for the 2018 season as roughly 30 players reported to preseason camp this past Friday and hit the practice field for the first time later in the day.

Head Coach Yasmina Carvalho's squad opens the 2018 campaign on Thursday, September 6th when the Bears host UMass Dartmouth at seven o'clock.

Five of the Bears' eight games in September will take place away from the friendly confines of Swenson Field, including the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) opener against the Viking of Salem State University on Saturday, September 15th at three o'clock.
