Four Bears Named to All-MASCAC Women's Soccer Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --Four Bridgewater State University student-athletes have been voted to the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Soccer All-Conference Team by the league's head coaches.

Senior midfielder Nicole Simas (Dartmouth, Mass.), senior defender Kassidy Campbell (Norton, Mass.) garnered All-MASCAC First Team honors, while junior forward Alana Vincent (Taunton, Mass.) and senior defender Caitlin Rowley (Lakeville, Mass.) were named to the All-MASCAC Second Team.

Simas and Vincent are both making their second appearance on the All-MASCAC Team, while Campbell and Rowley are first time honorees. Simas was named to the first team in 2017, while Vincent earned first team accolades in 2016.

A native of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Simas tallied a team-leading eight goals to go along with three assists for 19 points in 2018. She is currently tied for the MASCAC lead in game-winning goals (4) and ranks fifth in goals and seventh in scoring.

Simas played 52 games in her three seasons with the Bears as she produced 21 goals, including nine game-winners, to go along with three assists for 45 career points.

Campbell played and started all 74 games in her four-year career. She was one of the leaders of the Bears' defense this season and produced a goal and two assists in 17 games.

In 74 games over four seasons with the Bears, Campbell finished with a goal and nine assists for 19 points.

Rowley also was an integral part of the Bears' defensive line, starting all 17 games this season. She finished with a goal and a career-high six assists. Rowley finds herself in a tie for third place in the MASCAC for assists.

In her four-year career, Rowley played in 72 games and tallied five goals and nine assists for 19 points.

As the only non-senior for the Bears to earn All-MASCAC honors, Vincent notched seven goals to go along with an assist for 15 points in 15 games. She currently ranks tenth in the MASCAC in goals and 11th in scoring. 

In her first three seasons, Vincent has potted 17 goals and recorded six assists for 40 points. 

The BSU women's soccer team wrapped up the 2018 campaign with an overall record of 9-6-2 and a 5-1-1 conference mark. Seeded second in the MASCAC Tournament, the Bears dropped a 2-1 decision to #3 Westfield State University in the tournament semifinal round.
