Ettridge Notches 200th Goal in 17-2 Win over MCLA

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Senior midfielder Elizabeth Ettridge (Marshfield, Mass.) scored a game-high four goals, including the 200th of her career, to lead the Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team to a decisive 17-2 victory over visiting MCLA on Saturday evening at Swenson Field.

The Bears improve to 12-4 on the season and 6-1 in the MASCAC, while the visiting Trailblazers end the season with an overall record of 1-11 (0-7 MASCAC). Bridgewater State is seeded second in next week's MASCAC Tournament and will host a semifinal round game on Thursday, May 2nd at 7:00 PM against either #3 Westfield State University or #6 Salem State University.

Ettridge also added three assists as she finished with a game-high seven points. Ettridge became the sixth student-athlete in BSU women's lacrosse history to reach the 200-goal milestone.

Bridgewater scored the first 15 goals of the contest and led 10-0 at the break. Eleven different players scored for the Bears while 16 notched at least one point.

Freshman attack Madison Seeger (Clinton, Conn.) added three goals for the Bears while junior attack Victoria McDonough (Marshfield, Mass.) and freshman attack Lily Carson (Medford, Mass.) each notched a goal and two assists, and sophomore defender Taylor Carroll (Carver, Mass.) checked in with two goals. Carson's goal marked the first of her collegiate career.

Sophomore midfielders Kelsi Brennan (Dedham, Mass.) and Emily Hiller (Marion, Mass.), and freshman attack Katherine Tracy (Marion, Mass.) tallied a goal and an assist apiece, while senior attack Mackenzie Manning (Hingham, Mass.), sophomore attack Becky Tynan (Bellingham, Mass.) and freshman midfielder Lindsay Brown (East Longmeadow, Mass.) also scored for the Bears. Tynan's goal was her first in a BSU uniform.

Bridgewater State finished with a 33-12 shot advantage as well as a 16-4 edge in draw controls. Senior midfielder Lisa Moynihan (Norwood, Mass.) led all players with five draw controls, while McDonough registered four draws and freshman attack Hayley Carron (Hopedale, Mass.) notched three. Moynihan also dished out two assists and Carron recorded an assist.

Junior midfielder Kim Granito (Glenmont, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Sara Tomkiewicz (Adams, Mass.) scored for MCLA.

Junior goalkeeper Hayley Barner (Westwood, Mass.) made six saves to post her 12th win of the season for the Bears. Elwell (Clifton Park, N.Y.) turned aside 13 shots in the setback for the Trailblazers.
