Kailyn Aguiar Named to All-MASCAC Women's Basketball Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior forward Kailyn Aguiar has been voted by the league's coaches to the 2018-2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball All-Conference Team.

Aguiar garnered first team honors this season and is making her first appearance on the All-MASCAC Team.

A native of Acushnet, Massachusetts, Aguiar averaged 11.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.5 assists in 27 games this season, while shooting 58% (133-227) from the floor. She also recorded a team-best ten double-doubles.

Aguiar finished the season ranked second among the MASCAC leaders in field goal percentage as well and third in both rebounds and double-doubles.

In 53 games over two seasons at Bridgewater State, Aguiar accumulated 442 points, 411 rebounds, 63 assists and 62 steals. She also shot 57% (189-330) from the floor.

Before transferring to BSU, Aguiar played two seasons at Plymouth State University where she tallied 158 points, 190 rebounds, 27 assists and 20 steals in 47 games. All told, Aguiar totaled 600 points, 601 rebounds, 90 assists and 82 steals in 100 collegiate contests.

The BSU women's basketball team posted an 14-13 overall record this season. Seeded third in the MASCAC Tournament with a 8-4 conference mark, the Bears notched a 89-68 opening round win over #6 Fitchburg State University before dropping a 94-85 decision to second-seeded, and eventual champion, Westfield State University in the semifinals.
