Trevor Wysong Named MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the second straight week and third time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Trevor Wysong has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Wysong captured the meet title at the Seventh Annual Bruce Kirsh Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce University this past weekend at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds. The Taunton, Massachusetts product covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 24:26.9 as he outdistanced a field of 75 runners. Wysong also helped the Bears place second in the team standings at the six-team meet which featured four Division II schools.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the tenth of Wysong’s career as he also earned the honor six times last season and once in 2017. Wysong was also the conference Runner of the Year in 2018 and qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.

Following a weekend off, Wysong and several members of the BSU men's cross country team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held at Franklin Park on Saturday, October 12th.
