BRISTOL, R.I. – Junior Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) captured the individual title to lead the Bridgewater State University men's cross country team to the team championship at the season-opening Roger Williams Invitational held on Friday afternoon at Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Wysong covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 16:23.71 as he outdistanced a field of 37 harriers.
The Bears had the top four runners at the meet as senior Joseph Keough (Walpole, Mass.) placed second (16:44.80) followed by junior Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) in third place (16:53.41) and sophomore Nikolas Beshere (Winthrop, Mass.) in fourth (17:03.21).
The meet marked the head coaching debut of BSU skipper Connor Foley.
Following an off weekend, the Bears will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, September 15th.
