Men’s Swimming & Diving Falls to Babson, 213-71

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team competed in a dual meet against host Babson College on Saturday afternoon at the Elizabeth Morse Swimming Center.

The Bears (4-6) dropped a 213-71 decision to the host Beavers.

Junior Joseph Capella (New Bedford, Mass.) captured top honors in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 182.85 points.

Senior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) place second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.48 seconds, while junior Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) finished second in the 100 freestyle as he touched the wall in 51.12 seconds.

The Bears also finished second in both relay events. The quartet of Rose, Santos and juniors Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) and Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.) posted a time of 1:39.21 in the 200 medley relay, while the same foursome recorded a time of 1:29.68 in the 200 freestyle relay.

In upcoming action, the Bridgewater State swimming & diving teams host the BSU " Last Gasp" Open Invitational on Friday (Feb. 8) evening at six.
