Men’s Swimming & Diving Competes at Louise Goodrum Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team competed at the non-scoring Louise Goodrum Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Athletic Center.

The Bears placed first in six events including both relays.

The foursome of senior Jameson Rose (Somerset, Mass.) and juniors Sean Flaherty (North Andover, Mass.), Giulian Santos (Framingham, Mass.) and Dylon Willis (Attleboro, Mass.) won both relay events with season-best times of 1:39.65 in the 200 medley relay and 1:30.01 in the 200 freestyle relay. Their time in the 200 freestyle relay was just 7/10 of a second off the UMD pool record.

Rose, Flaherty, Santos and Willis also captured top honors in individual events. Rose in the 100 backstroke (57.05), Flaherty in the 50 backstroke (26.23), Santos in the 50 butterfly (24.75) and Willis in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.54).

Senior Alexander Belinsky (Norton, Mass.) placed second in both diving events. Belinsky posted a score of 204.45 points on one-meter board and 221.10 points on the three-meter.

In upcoming action, the Bears host Wheaton College on Wednesday evening at six.
