BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman midfielder Robson Montrond has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, Montrond netted the game-winning goal in the Bears’ 1-0 Homecoming win over MASCAC rival Westfield State University this past weekend.

In ten games this season, including two starts, Montrond has collected two goals and one assist for five points.

Montrond, who is one of three Bears’ to garner MASCAC Rookie of the Week accolades this season, also earned the honor back on September 3rd.

The BSU men’s soccer team is currently 7-6 on the season and 3-2 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday night to take on the Corsairs at seven.
