Field Hockey

Ashley Bishop was named the head coach of the Bears’ field hockey program in the summer of 2022. Bishop is a 2007 graduate of Assumption College where she earned a Bachelor of Art degree in English and Communications. Ashley played four years of field hockey for the Division II Greyhounds.

Prior to coaching at Bridgewater State, Bishop served as a field hockey coach at her alma mater, Barnstable High School for ten years including the last eight as the varsity head coach. She was also the JV softball coach for the Red Raiders.

A resident of Centerville, Massachusetts, Bishop is also a2003 graduate of Barnstable High School. She played varsity halfback for the Red Raider field hockey team in 2001 and 2002, earning a pair of varsity letters. She served as a co-captain and was named as an Old Colony League All-Star her senior season. Bishop also played varsity basketball as well as varsity softball for two seasons at Barnstable. She was a Cape Cod Times All-Cape & Islands selection in her junior year in softball.

Prior to taking over as the Bears' field hockey coach, Bishop was a teaching assistant at Barnstable High School and is a licensed English teacher.
