Field Hockey Falls to Keene State, 8-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Keene State College field hockey team cruised to an 8-0 victory over visiting Bridgewater State University in a Little East Conference contest on Saturday at the Owl Athletic Complex.

The Owls improve to 10-5 on the season and 8-1 in the Little East, while the visiting Bears fall to 2-10 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Senior forward Kelsey Roberts (Greenfield, Mass.), freshman forward Ellie Hunkins (Greenland, N.H.) and junior forward Kayla Klein (West Brookfield, Mass.) tallied two goals apiece to pace the Owls who led 6-0 at the half and dominated play from start to finish. Roberts also added an assist.

Senior defender Ally McCall (Watertown, Mass.) checked in with a goal and a pair of assists for Keene State.

The Owls finished with a 29-0 shot advantage for the game as well as a 17-0 edge in penalty corner attempts.

Keene senior goalkeeper Jordan LaRaus (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) did not face a shot as she recorded her second win of the season and first shutout.

Senior netminder Jillian Delaney (Foxborough, Mass.) made 11 saves in the setback for the Bears who also received a defensive save from sophomore defender Annabelle Boudreau (Halifax, Mass.).

The Little East schedule continues for both teams on Tuesday. The Bears travel to Eastern Connecticut State University to take on the Warriors at four o'clock, while the Owls entertain the Falcons of Fitchburg State University at 6:30.
