Tia Rogers Resigns as Bridgewater State Head Field Hockey Coach

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University Director of Athletics, Dr. Marybeth Lamb, announced today that Tia Rogers has resigned from her position as the Bears' head field coach effective December 31, 2018.

"I am grateful to Tia for leading the Bears over the past five seasons, including this past season's MASCAC championship," said Lamb. "The team is poised to be challenged and play at the next level of competition."

In five seasons at the helm of the BSU field hockey program, Rogers produced an overall coaching record of 43-48 (.473) and directed the Bears' to five straight Little East Conference Tournament appearances. She guided the 2016 squad to an 11-win season (11-7) and the team advanced to the Little East Conference Tournament semifinal round. Bridgewater State also captured Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season titles in 2015 and 2018.

"I really enjoyed coaching this team," said Rogers. "It was the favorite part of my days being on campus and it was never going to be an easy time to leave."

A national search for the Bears' new field hockey coach is currently underway.
