Brad Thiltgen Named MASCAC Offensive

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman quarterback Brad Thiltgen has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Rookie of the Year.

In nine games this season, Thiltgen has completed 45 of 74 pass attempts (60.8%) for 574 yards and five touchdowns as he has been an effective compliment to BSU junior signal caller Stefano D’Emilia (Bridgewater, Mass.). The Cumming, Georgia native has also rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown as he has amassed 783 yards of total offense.

Thiltgen is the Bears’ first MASCAC Offensive Rookie of the Year since senior teammate Travis Bassett (Littleton, Mass.) earned the honor back in 2014.

The BSU football team is currently 7-3 on the season. The Bears, who tied for second in the MASCAC standing with a 6-2 conference mark, will host Salve Regina University in the New England Bowl on Saturday at noon.
