Jack Lavanchy Named MASCAC Football Offensive Player of the Year

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior wide receiver Jack Lavanchy has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Offensive Player of the Year.

Through ten games this season, Lavanchy has hauled in a school-record 88 receptions for 1,105 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Walpole, Massachusetts native currently leads the MASCAC in receptions and receiving yards, and is tied for the conference lead in receiving touchdowns.

On the national stage, Lavanchy is fifth in all of Division III in receptions, tenth in receiving yards and tied for 27th in receiving touchdowns.

In 30 games over three seasons with the Bears, Lavanchy has caught 216 passes for 2,851 yards and 27 touchdowns. He is the program’s all-time leading receiver in terms of both receptions and yards, and ranks third in touchdown catches.

Lavanchy is the Bears’ first MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year since Matt Green earned the honor back in 2014.

The BSU football team is currently 7-3 on the season. The Bears, who tied for second in the MASCAC standing with a 6-2 conference mark, will host Salve Regina University in the New England Bowl on Saturday at noon.
