Stefano D'Emilia Named MASCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Stefano D'Emilia has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Football Special Teams Player of the Week.

D'Emilia averaged 43 yards on two punts with both inside the 20 and a long of 48 in the Bears' 21-7 Cranberry Bowl victory over Massachusetts Maritime. His first punt was downed at the 11-yard line and his second was downed at the eight. Both punts came in the fourth quarter.

Through ten games this season, D'Emilia is averaging 36.4 yards on 24 punts with 12 inside the 20 and a long of 53. He ranks second in the MASCAC in punts inside the 20.

D'Emilia also doubles as the Bears' starting quarterback. He has completed 155 of 264 pass attempts this season for 1,814 yards and 14 touchdowns. He ranks fourth in the conference in both passing yards and efficiency rating (128.63) and is tied for fifth in passing touchdowns.

In 22 games over three seasons at Bridgewater State, D'Emilia has thrown for 3,526 yards and 27 touchdowns. He is also averaging 34.5 yards on 69 career punts with 23 inside the 20.

D'Emilia is currently sixth all-time in BSU football history in both passing yards and passing touchdowns.

The BSU football team wrapped up regular season play with an overall record of 7-3. The Bears finished tied for second in the MASCAC standings with a 6-2 conference mark.
