BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior right-hander Jarrett Archambault has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Baseball Pitcher of the Week. GEICO is the proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

Archambault tossed a complete game, three-hit shutout in the Bears' 2-0 MASCAC win over Westfield State University this past weekend. The Seekonk, Massachusetts product fanned a season-high eight batters, including the side in the seventh, to secure the victory for the Bears.

In seven appearances (all starts) on the mound this season, Archambault has posted a record of 3-2 with two complete games and a shutout. He has struck out 32 batters and produced a 3.19 earned run average in 42 1/3 innings of work.

Archambault currently ranks eighth among the MASCAC leaders in ERA and is tied for seventh in complete games.

The BSU baseball team is currently 13-18 on the season and 8-9 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Westfield State University this afternoon for a 2:30 MASCAC game with the Owls.
