Women's Cross Country Places 8th at UMD Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Senior Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed 15th out of a field of 263 runners, which included all three NCAA divisions, to lead the Bridgewater State University women's cross country team at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Madden completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:59.10. Senior Emily Manfra of Suffolk University won the meet with a time of 17:51.72.

The Bears finished eighth in the team standings. Holy Cross captured the team title followed by Mount Holyoke College in second place and WPI in third.

Sophomore Kaylee Dunn (North Attleboro, Mass.) was the next Bear to cross the finish line as she placed 24th overall with a time of 19:16.77. Third for the Bears in 66th place was freshman Julie Glavin (Weymouth, Mass.) who ran a time of 20:11.28.

Next Saturday, the Bears will compete at the Franklin Pierce Invitational.
