Madden Leads Women's Cross Country at MASCAC Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Junior Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed second out of a field of 89 runners to lead the Bridgewater State University women's cross country team at the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Championships held on Saturday at Mount Greylock High School in Williamstown.

Madden covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 20:06.14 to garner All-MASCAC honors.

Senior Emily Guyon (Hopedale, Mass.) also earned all-conference accolades for the Bears as she placed seventh overall with a time of 21:14.07.

Worcester State University (38 Pts.) captured the team championship followed by Westfield State (48 Pts.) in second and Bridgewater State (89 Pts.) in third.

Junior Elisabeth Olson (Wilmington, Mass.) of Worcester State won the individual title with a time of 20:03.86.

Following an off weekend, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday, November 10th.
