DORCHESTER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) placed 49th out of a field of 168 runners at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Women's Cross Country Championships held on Saturday at Franklin Park.
Madden covered the five-kilometer course in a time of 19:15.34 as she finished eighth among Division III harriers. Senior Natalie Bettez of Division III Tufts University won the women's race with a time of 17:57.85.
The Bears did not place in the team standings. Boston College captured the team title followed by MIT in second place and Quinnipiac in third.
Next weekend, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Western New England Invitational.
