Women's Cross Country Places 19th at Conn. College Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 19th at the Connecticut College Invitational held on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park.

Sophomore Jenise Madden (Milford, Mass.) was the Bears' top runner as she completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 24:19.7 to finish 64th out of a field of 273 runners.

Senior Kristyn Grattan (Hanover, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 25:01.6 to place 106th overall, while junior Emily Guyon (Hopedale, Mass.) rounded out BSU's top three harriers with a time of 25:39.9 (138th place).

Kaitlyn Mooney of Coast Guard Academy won the individual title with a time of 21:35.8. Middlebury College placed first in the team standings followed by Tufts University and RPI.

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Westfield State University on October 28th.
