Women's Cross Country Competes at Conn. College Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University women's cross country team placed 15th at the Connecticut College Invitational held on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park.

BSU grad student Jacey Peers (Elmsford, N.Y.) was the Bears' top runner as she completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 24:07.81 to finish 61st out of a field of 259 runners.  Freshman Ann Pollock (Peabody, Mass.) crossed the line in 24:42.73 to place 88th overall, while senior Krysta Zbikowski (Ashburnham, Mass.) rounded out BSU's top three harriers with a time of 24:57.71 (112th place).

Amy Regan of Stevens Tech. won the individual title with a time of 20:56.94.  Tufts University placed first in the team standings followed by Keene State College and Stevens.

After a week off, the Bears will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by MCLA on November 1st.
