BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State College senior harrier Nicole Mauro has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Mauro earned the individual title and conference Runner of the Year honors at last weekend's MASCAC Cross Country Championship, as she covered the 5,000 meters at Moore State Park in a course- record, winning time of 19:43.2.

The BSC women's team placed second at the MASCAC Championships led by Mauro's first place finish. Freshman Amanda Hauswirth (Methuen, MA) also earned All-MASCAC honors as she took third place with a time of 21:01.6.

A native of Mashpee, Massachusetts, Mauro was an All-MASCAC performer each of the past two seasons, placing second at the MASCAC Championships last season and 10th during her sophomore year of 2005.  She also earned All-New England Alliance honors a year ago with a sixth place showing.
