Volleyball Falls to Salve Regina, 3-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-19) decision to visiting Salve Regina University on Thursday evening at the Tinsley Center.

The visiting Seahawks improve 16-7 on the season, while the Bears fall to 3-10 overall.

Senior outside hitter Cassidy Trabilcy (Phoenix, Ariz.) paced the Seahawks with a match-high 11 kills to go along with nine digs and three aces, while freshman outside hitter Madison Lee (Dover, Fla.) notched ten kills and an ace. Senior setter Erin Proctor (Canton, Mass.) dished out a match-best 33 assists and senior defensive specialist Megan Parham (Tulsa, Okla.) recorded a match-high 20 digs. Freshman outside hitter Nicole Karabaich (Greenlawn, N.Y.) checked in with four kills, 17 digs and three aces, while junior middle hitter Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) added nine kills and posted a .500 hitting percentage.

Salve registered a .170 hitting percentage and tallied seven aces with six serving errors.

Junior middle hitter Erin Clifford (Hanson, Mass.) and senior outside hitter Kayla Baril (Seekonk, Mass.) led Bridgewater State with seven kills apiece. Baril added five digs and an ace. Sophomore middle hitter Sydney Rice (Medway, Mass.) contributed six kills and three solo blocks, while senior setter Picabo Miskiv (Barnstable, Mass.) handed out 15 assists. Senior libero Cassidy Tyros (Chelmsford, Mass.) registered 17 digs to go along with an ace. Tyros now has 1492 digs in her career.

The Bears posted a .108 hitting percentage with three aces and eight serving errors.

The Bears host Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) rival MCLA on Saturday afternoon at one, while the Seahawks are off until next Wednesday evening when they travel to Nichols College for a six o'clock Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match with the Bison.
