Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Colby-Sawyer College and host Roger Williams University on Saturday at the RWU Invitational.

The Bears, who went 0-3 at the season-opening tournament, lost to Colby-Sawyer by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-9) margin and fell to Roger Williams by the identical score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-8).

Junior outside hitter Kayla Baril (Seekonk, Mass.) paced the Bears in the loss to Colby-Sawyer with five kills, a solo block and three digs. Junior libero Cassidy Tyros (Chelmsford, Mass.) contibuted 11 digs and an ace, while junior setter Elexi Miskiv (Centerville, Mass.) notched seven assists, seven digs and an ace.

In the setback to the host Hawks, junior outside hitter Megan Tamasanis (South Easton, Mass.) registred five kills, while Miskiv dished out ten assists ancd Tyros recorded 20 digs. Baril chipped in with three kills and an ace.

The Bears host Elms College on Wednesday evening at six.
