Volleyball Blanks Elms, 3-0, at Cardinal Classic

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team extended its winning streak to four matches as the Bears posted a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-21) victory over Elms College on Friday night at the Best Western-Ground Round Cardinal Classic hosted by Plattsburgh State.

Sophomore setter Charleyne Panner (Gilford, N.H.) filled the stat sheet with 27 assists, eight digs, three kills and a pair of aces. Junior middle hitter Julie Hutchins (Bellingham, Mass.) notched seven kills, five digs, three assisted blocks and three aces, while senior defensive specialist Sarah Mullarkey (Salem, Mass.) chipped in with 11 digs and three aces.

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Maymon (Narragansett, R.I.) also paced BSU with eight kills, 11 digs, an ace and two blocks (one solo).

The Bears (6-3) finished with 11 aces in the match.  The Blazers (1-6) struggled on the attack committing 13 errors and posting a .066 hitting percentage.

Bridgewater will take on Sage at 11:00 AM and host Plattsburgh at 1:30 PM when the Cardinal Classic continues on Saturday.
