Natalie Cohen Named MASCAC Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State College sophomore setter Natalie Cohen has been selected as the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Player of the Week.

A native of Marstons Mills, Massachusetts, Cohen helped lead the Bears to the program's tenth straight MASCAC Tournament title as she averaged 30 assists and 2.5 blocks in tournament wins over Worcester State and Westfield State.

Cohen notched 32 assists and pair of blocks in BSC's 3-0 semifinal win over Worcester and then tallied 28 assists and three blocks in the Bears' 3-0 championship match victory against Westfield.

The BSC volleyball team will be making the program's tenth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament which gets underway on Thursday, November 13th.  The Bears (12-23) are seeded seventh in the New England Regional and will take on second seeded Tufts University (28-3) on Thursday at 8:30 PM.

Heading into the national tournament, Cohen presently leads the MASCAC in assists with 893 as she is averaging 25.5 assists per match. She also ranks third on the Bears in blocks with 47 and is fourth in digs with 174.

Cohen was also named the MASCAC Player of the Week back on September 29th.
