BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Molly Dewar has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) GEICO Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. GEICO is a proud sponsor of the MASCAC weekly awards program.

A native of Grafton, Massachusetts, Dewar captured first place in the hammer throw this past weekend at the 12th Annual Eastern Invitational with a throw of 138 feet (42.07m). She also placed fourth in the discus with a season-best mark of 106 feet, eight inches (32.51m), and finished seventh in the shot put with a distance of 31 feet, 6.75 inches (9.62m).

Dewar currently ranks 16th among Division III New England student-athletes in the hammer and 31st in discus.

Dewar and the BSU women's outdoor track and field team will open postseason competition on Saturday, April 27th as the Bears head to Fitchburg State University for the MASCAC Championships.
