Andrews Named Most Outstanding Track Performer at DIII New Englands

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Jayci Andrews was named as the recipient of the Debbie Aitken Award as the Most Outstanding Track Performer at the Division III New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Andrews captured the individual titles in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles at Division III New England Championships which took place at on May 3rd and 4th out at Williams College. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native placed first in the finals of the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.07 seconds and won the 400 hurdles with a season-best time of 1:01.58.

In the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles, Andrews set the DIII New England meet record and eclipsed her won BSU school mark with a time of 14.02 seconds. The school record lasted about a week as she broke it again with a time of 13.86 seconds this past Saturday (May 11) at the NEICAAA Championships.

Andrews, who won the national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, is currently ranked first in all of Division III in the 100 hurdles and seventh in the 400 hurdles.
