Andrews Advances to Finals of 100-Meter Hurdles at NCAA Championships, Gilbreath Places 18th in Shot Put

GENEVA, Ohio – Bridgewater State University senior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) placed first in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles on Friday afternoon at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Andrews posted a time of 13.87 seconds to advance to Saturday's finals. She was just 1/100 of a second off her school record time of 13.86 seconds set earlier this month at the NEICAAA Championships.

Andrews will compete in the finals of the 100 hurdles on Saturday afternoon at 12:50 PM. She will also compete in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 PM.

On Thursday, Andrews notched the second fastest time in the preliminaries of the 400 hurdles. She broke her own school record with a time of 1:00.08.

BSU senior Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) placed 18th in the shot put on Friday as she posted a mark of 42 feet, 5.25 inches (12.93m). Gilbreath was competing at the NCAA outdoor championships for the second straight season. She finished 22nd in the shot put at the 2018 championships.
