Andrews, Gilbreath Compete at MIT Final Qualifying Meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Bridgewater State University seniors Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) and Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) competed at the MIT Final Qualifying Meet on Thursday evening at Henry G. Steinbrenner Track.

Andrews placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.91, while Gilbreath finished second in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet, 1.25 inches (12.83m).

Andrews and Gilbreath are both currently in position to compete at the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will take place from Thursday, May 23rd to Saturday, May 25th at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The top 22 student-athletes in individual events qualify for the national championship meet.

Andrews is currently ranked first in the 100-meter hurdles and seventh in the 400-meter hurdles, while Gilbreath is 18th in the shot put.

The official list of women's accepted entries for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be released on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM on www.ncaa.com.
