Andrews Breaks Owns Hurdles Mark at DIII New Englands

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Jayci Andrews broke her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles on Friday at the Division III New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Williams College.

Andrews posted a first-place preliminary time of 14.02 seconds as she eclipsed her previous BSU outdoor mark of 14.14 seconds set last season at the NCAA Division III Championships. Andrews, who currently ranks first in all of Division III in the 100 hurdles, will compete in Saturday's finals.

Junior Molly Dewar (Grafton, Mass.) and sophomore Juliana Martin (North Attleboro, Mass.) placed 11th and 16th, respectively, in the hammer throw. Dewar tossed the hammer 141 feet, two inches (43.03m), while Martin recorded a mark of 133 feet, nine inches (40.76m). Senior Madeline McNamara (Hull, Mass.) finished 15th overall in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 5.25 inches (5.01m).
