Seven Bears Garner USTFCCCA All-New England Honors

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University track and field programs saw seven athletes garner Division III All-New England honors as the U.S. Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) handed out its awards for the indoor season.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned all-region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top three relay teams.

On the women's side, junior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) earned All-New England accolades in the 60-meter hurdles, while junior Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) was recognized for her performance in the shot put.

Andrews will compete at the upcoming NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Champions as she is seeded eighth in the hurdles.

For the men's team, the Bears' quartet of sophomores Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.) and Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.), senior Michael Kotleski (Great Barrington, Mass.) and freshman John Lara (South Boston, Mass.) brought home All-New England honors in the 4x400-meter relay. Higgins also picked up the award for the 800-meter run, while senior Cameron Williamson (North Easton, Mass.) garnered the distinction for his performance in the triple jump.

Higgins is seeded fifth in the 800 at the NCAA indoor championships, while the 4x400 relay is seeded 11th.
