Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Andrews placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.94) and eighth in the 400-meter dash (58.85) at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held this past weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native garnered All-NEICAAA honors in both events and she was the only Division III student-athlete in the finals of each event.

Andrews currently ranks second in New England in the hurdles and sixth in all of Division III. She is also fifth in New England in the 400 and 18th in Division III.

Andrews has qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the hurdles, 200 and 400.

The MASCAC Athlete of the Week honor marks the 14th of Andrews' career including ten indoor distinctions.

The indoor schedule continues for the BSU women's track & field team on Saturday as the Bears compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by Rhode Island College.
