Andrews Eclipses Hurdles Mark at DIII New Englands

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) broke her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2018 Division III New England Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by MIT on Friday.

Andrews posted a preliminary time of 14.44 seconds as she eclipsed her previous mark of 14.58 seconds set in 2016. Andrews finished third in the preliminaries and will advance to Saturday's finals. She currently ranks eighth in all of Division III in the event.

Andrews also finished 15th in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet. 7.5 inches (5.07m).

Freshman Jamelah Foster (Fall River, Mass.) added a 15th place showing in the discus with a toss of 110 feet, 11.5 inches (33.82m). Sophomore Molly Dewar (Grafton, Mass.) finished 22nd in the discus (102'0.75"/31.11m), while senior Michelle Stefanowicz (South Hadley, Mass.) checked in at 24th (97'11.5"/29.86m).

The third and final day of the Division III New England Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will get underway on Saturday morning at ten.
