Women’s Indoor Track & Field Competes at Wesleyan Invitational

WESLEYAN, Conn. – The Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday at the Bacon Field House.

Junior Kira Gilbreath (West Haven, Utah) placed second in the shot put (41'4.25"/12.60m) and third in the weight throw (45'5.75"/13/86m), while sophomore Molly Dewar (Grafton, Mass.) finished fifth in the weight throw with a career-best toss of 44 feet, 10.75 inches (13.68m).

Sophomore Tess Miller (Uxbridge, Mass.) posted a third-place showing in the 400-meter dash (1:00.11).

Sophomore Jessica Haywood (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished fourth in the 600-meter run (1:46.32), while junior Emily Guyon (Hopedale, Mass.) was the seventh runner to cross the line in the 1,000-meter run (3:15.99).

Junior Molly McNamara (Hull, Mass.) placed seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet, 11 inches (10.03m).

Next weekend, the Bears will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by Rhode Island College.
