Grattan Eclipses 1,000 Record, Andrews Advances to 400 Finals at NEICAAA Championships

ROXBURY, Mass. – Bridgewater State University senior Kristyn Grattan (Hanover, Mass.) set the school record in the 1,000-meter run and junior Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) advanced to the finals of the 400-meter dash on Friday at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Grattan finished 12th in the 1,000 with a school record time of 3:00.95. She eclipsed Sarah Lagasse's previous program mark of 3:03.25 set in 2011. 

Andrews finished eighth in the preliminaries of the 400 with a season-best time of 58.09 seconds as she qualified for Saturday's final (2:15 PM).

Andrews will also be competing in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday at 12:50 PM. The top eight advance to the finals (1:40 PM). Grattan will be competing in the one-mile run on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
