Samantha Richner Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Samantha Richner has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Richner competed in the high jump at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held this past weekend at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. The Hanson, Massachusetts, product recorded a leap of five feet, three inches (1.60m) on her second jump of the afternoon to place 16th in the event.

Richner qualified for the indoor championships in the high jump with a school-record mark of five feet, seven inches (1.70m) which she posted at the season-opening UMass Boston Invitational.

Along with her indoor high jump record, Richner also holds BSU program marks in the pentathlon (3,195 pts.) and the outdoor high jump (5'6.5"/1.69m).
