Danielle Poto Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Danielle Poto has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

A native of North Andover, Massachusetts, Poto posted a personal-best time of 17:41.68 in the 5,000-meter run at the Tufts Cupid Challenge this past weekend. Poto, who placed fourth in the event, currently ranks 13th in all of Division III in the 5,000.

Poto has qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the 5,000, the mile and the 3,000-meter run. She has also qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships in both the 5,000 and the 3,000 as well as the NEICAAA Championships in the 5,000.

Poto also earned the honor back on January 18th for her peformance in the 3,000 at the Tufts Invitational.

On Saturday, the BSU indoor track and field teams will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by Plymouth State University.
