Jayci Andrews Named MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Jayci Andrews has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.

Andrews placed second in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 26.64 seconds at the Tufts Cupid Challenge this past weekend. The Plymouth, Massachusetts product also finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 9.28 seconds.

Andrews has qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the 200, the hurdles, the 400-meter dash and the long jump. She has also qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships and NEICAAA Championships in the 400 as well as the ECACs in both the 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays.

Andrews also earned MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors back on December 7th for her performance at the season-opening UMass Boston Invitational, and on January 18th for her performance at the Tufts Invitational.

On Saturday, the BSU indoor track and field teams will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by Plymouth State University.
