Krevosky Garners All-New England Accolades in the 60-Meter Hurdles

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Junior Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) earned her second All-New England honor in as many days to lead the Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Smith College on Saturday.

Krevosky placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles while also breaking her own school record in the event with a time of 9.22 seconds.  She eclipsed her previous school standard of 9.26 seconds set last season at the ECAC Division III Championships.

The Bears finished 20th overall in the team standings with nine points.  MIT captured the team title with 151 points, while Williams College (86 pts) and Wesleyan University (58 pts) rounded out the top three.

On Friday, Krevosky finished fourth in the pentathlon with a score of 2,944 points.

BSU's 4x400-meter relay team comprised of sophomores Abbie Pustis (Andover, Mass.), Traci Perry (Middleboro, Mass.) and Amanda Lane (Abington, Mass.), and senior Ashley Aldred (Saugus, Mass.) finished tenth and qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships with a time of 4:06.73.

The Bears' 4x800-meter relay squad featuring sophomore Sabrina Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.), junior Samanth Pinkham (Hingham, Mass.), freshman Shauntel Farland (Burlington, Mass.) and junior Theresa Connolly (North Andover, Mass.) placed 12th overall and qualified for ECACs with a time of 9:59.92.

Connolly also qualified for ECACs in the 1,000-meter run as she posted a time of 3:07.96 to finish 16th in the event.

Next weekend, qualifying members of the BSU women's track & field team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships hosted by Boston University.
