Amanda Hauswirth Named MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College sophomore Amanda Hauswirth has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
A native of Methuen, Massachusetts, Hauswirth Placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run at the Northeastern Husky Spring Open with a time of 19:26.13 as she was the top Division III runner in the event.
Last season, Hauswirth ran a leg on the Bears' first place 4 x 400 relay team and placed second in the 1,500-meter run at the MASCAC Outdoor Track Championships. She also competed on BSC's 4 x 800 relay squad which captured the MASCAC indoor title during the 2007-2008 season.
Hauswirth also achieved All-MASCAC Cross Country honors in each of her first two seasons with the Bears as she placed third at the conference championship meet in 2007 and again in 2008.
