BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State College freshman Colleen Davis has been named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

A native of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Davis finished fifth in both the long jump (14' 11.5") and triple jump (31' 3.25") in her debut for Bears at the Northeastern Husky Spring Open.

Davis was a stellar track and field athlete at Mansfield High School as she helped the Hornets capture the Hockomock League outdoor championship in 2008.  A Hockomock League All-star as well as a Boston Globe All-Scholastic, Davis won the league title in both the 300-meter hurdles and the 4 x 400 relay during her senior season.

Mansfield's 4 x 400 relay team also placed first at the Massachusetts All-State meet last season with a school-record setting time of 3:56.98, and finished fifth overall at the New England Championship meet.
