MEDFORD, Mass. --- Senior Nicole
Mauro (Mashpee, MA) picked up right where she left off
from the indoor season placing second in the 5000 meter run
(18:53.06) and seventh in the 1500 (5:03.66) to help the
Bridgewater State College outdoor women’s track and field
team finish in eighth out of 13 teams at the Tufts Snowflake
Classic.
BSC finished with 15 total team points while Division I Dartmouth
was the meet winner with 195 points. The meet was held this past
Saturday at the Dussalt Track and Field Complex in Medford, MA.
Freshman Louise Cornerford (Billerica, MA)
crossed the line in 16th place in the 400 meter run while classmate
Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, MA) took home 12th in
the 800 (2:38.95).
In the field, freshman Brittany Paige (Winthrop,
MA) placed 14th in the hammer throw (101-06) while the 4 x 400
relay team rounded out the meet for the Bears with a fifth place
finish (4:44.86).
BSC will travel to Fitchburg, MA to compete in the Jim Sheehan
Memorial Meet. The action begins at 11 AM this Saturday.
