Women's Tennis Falls to Endicott, 9-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Endicott College women's tennis team opened the 2018 season with a 9-0 victory over host Bridgewater State University on Monday afternoon at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

The Gulls (1-0) swept all three doubles flights and each of the six singles matches.

Seniors Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.) and Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.) posted an 8-1 victory at first doubles to highlight Endicott's three doubles winners, while freshman Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 straight set win in the battle of the top flight singles players.

BSU freshman Vanessa Rosa (Taunton, Mass.) had a solid showing in her collegiate debut despite taking the loss. Rosa dropped a 6-0, 6-4 decision at sixth singles to Endicott sophomore Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.).

In upcoming action, the Bears (0-1) host Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday, September 11th (3:00 PM), while the Gulls entertain the Wildcats on Saturday, September 8th (1:00 PM).
